Daniel Church grew up in Manchester. He loves nature, hills, woods, forest, lakes, rivers, the sea and dogs. ​He also writes horror fiction, and has written two other novels, The Hollows (shortlisted for the British Fantasy Award) and The Ravening. He also writes as Simon Bestwick. He is married, and lives in the North of England.
