Shelby Lewis is a Los Angeles-based actress, voice actor, director, and educator whose audiobook titles have ranged from young adult fantasy to cozy murder mysteries to gritty true crime. Her warm, articulate vocal quality lends itself to fiction and nonfiction alike, and her extensive acting training allows her to deftly navigate bringing unique characters to life with specificity and authenticity. At the very beginning of her VO career, Shelby won a contest sponsored by Audible.com that awarded her her first audiobook, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, during which she performed 60+ character voices. She was also personally mentored by top male narrator Scott Brick (The Dune Series, Cloud Atlas, Tom Clancy and John Grisham novels). Shelby holds a BFA in Acting from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and a Master’s degree from University of Northern Colorado in Theatre Education with an emphasis on disability inclusion and accessibility in the arts. She is also a graduate of the premiere performing arts high school Interlochen Arts Academy. Originally from northern Michigan, she still feels very tied to her Midwest roots. Apart from audiobooks, Shelby has acted extensively on-camera, on stage, and in the e-learning section of voiceover. Her first love is Shakespeare, and she has performed such roles as Desdemona (Othello), Rosalind (As You Like It), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Goneril (King Lear), Richmond (Richard III), Portia (Julius Caesar), and Juliet (Romeo and Juliet). She is also a monologue coach for high schoolers preparing college program auditions, and has a YouTube channel called Shelby Loves Shakespeare with tutorials to take the intimidation out of classical literature one fun video at a time. www.shelbylewisofficial.com
