I am First Nations from the Wei Wai Kum band, part of the larger Ligʷiłdaxʷ group of Nations. I live in Victoria BC, Canada.
A professional audiobook narrator with a focus in Fantasy and Historical Fiction, although I narrate a broad range spanning from fiction to non-fiction. I can do full production, and have also worked with industry leaders including Penguin Random House, Lepton Productions, and Hachette.
A personal favourite is a good underdog story. Once, I was a single teen mom, grew up on reserve, and had to overcome adversities to continue on in my education and have a successful career as a Physician specializing in Indigenous Health (which I still practice). Bringing my array of experiences to the booth, I enjoy narrating characters who feel they don’t belong, who are overcoming insurmountable impossible odds, who challenge the status quo, all while staying connected to (or finding) identity, self-acceptance, and love. Community is a core value of mine, and the “Found Family” trope gets me every time.
As an Indigenous woman, books that explore race, oppression, and equity, also hold a special place in my heart
