The empire erased his name, but he’ll carve it back in blood, in the opener of this cyber-enhanced action series from the creator of Victor of Tucson.
Centuries ago, Hector Finalis was Guardian Primus of the Conti family, cybernetic members of the royal elite who hoarded precious potentia to live forever. But when the Contis were butchered, he was branded a traitor. As a result, he was broken, beaten, and left for dead.
Two hundred years later, Hector’s lost neurodeck is found in a scavenger haul. He’s back . . . but he isn’t himself. He exists in a new skin, a weak husk lacking all his former hard-earned refinements, abilities, and boosts as well as the strength to withstand his full power without ripping himself apart. In short, he’s a relic with a fractured past and a blood oath only he remembers.
To survive, Hector must rebuild his aura system from nothing and uncover the truth behind his downfall. But the screams of those he failed to protect still haunt him, and the need for revenge could destroy him unless he finds something worth living for. For now, he knows one thing for certain: He has a lot of people to kill.
