An army of monsters couldn't stop the War Incarnate, Sam Hunter. But a floating city of cultists just might.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Sam must outrun the Black City full of cultists hellbent on avenging their fallen god while avoiding the grisly fate of his newly claimed skyshard falling into the Maelstrom at the heart of the first layer. Sam and Raiko will need to look within for power. The Academy's professors, in repayment for their salvation, offer unique paths of progression: smithing, alchemy, enchanting, building, and so much more. Together, they strive to build a foundation that lasts the ages, fueled by treasures and enemies below. Racing against the clock, Sam needs not only to empower himself but his new skyshard as well to have any hope of staying ahead of the Black City or surviving the rending black hole of the Maelstrom.
