Convict
I'm seventy-two hours from walking out of Pine Haven Correctional as a free man when the riot starts. Irish inmates with makeshift knives hunt me through burning cell blocks over some job I pulled years ago. Blood pours from my gut as I crash into the infirmary, expecting to die alone. But Rebecca Johnson changes everything. The prison nurse with compassionate eyes and steady hands doesn't run when armed killers kick down her door. She patches my wounds, grabs her medical bag, and follows me into the service corridors without hesitation. Now we're fugitives together, hiding in shadows while they search for us. She's thrown away her career, her freedom, everything she worked for. All to save a convicted thief she met an hour ago. I tell her to leave. She refuses. The Irish won't stop hunting. My brother's MC is our only salvation. But with this fearless nurse by my side, I've found something better than freedom. I've found home.
